Elent Dorson (born 2375) was a female Trill who lived aboard the USS Robinson with her Starfleet personnel parents. Her mother was Jozell Dorson.
In 2385, Dorson had befriended Rebecca Jae Sisko and the two worked together on a report on a domesticated animal from a Federation planet. Rebecca wanted to write about a Bajoran pylchyk, while Elent wanted to write about a Denebian slime devil. Benjamin Sisko wasn't sure that Denebian slime devils could be domesticated but Kasidy Yates believed Rebecca would be able to pursuade her to write about the pylchyk. In 2386, Elent was kidnapped by the Glant, but was safely rescued. Sisko and Yates hoped that Rebecca would discuss their shared traumatic experience with Elent, her best friend. (DS9 novel: Original Sin)
