- In the Star Trek: Vanguard series bible by author David Mack, Chief Langlois was said to hold the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, which would be consistent with Vanguard's gamma-shift cargo supervisor, Master Chief Shalas; however, since the novels refer to her simply as "Chief Petty Officer", that rank is the one used here.
