Elsa Kelly was a 20th century Human woman. She was married to Richard Kelly, an officer in the United States Navy in the early 1940s.

Biography[]

In 1941, the Kellys lived in Honolulu, Hawaii near Pearl Harbor.

On Saturday, 6 December, a time displaced James T. Kirk materialized in a semi-transparent state into her backyard. He convinced her that he was a naval officer and not a threat, and she hid him from Richard. As they spent time together, they unexpectedly fell in love.

As Kirk needed technology to attempt repairs to his wrist communicator, she took Kirk to the house of a friend who had radio equipment, but Richard saw them leave together and followed them. As Elsa and Kirk took a walk on the beach, Richard led a group of Naval Intelligence officers to the house. Discovering Kirk's communicator, they concluded that he must be a spy and arrested Kirk that night.

Elsa helped Kirk escape, but early the next morning while hiding, they heard warplanes approaching Hawaii. (Phase II episode: "Tomorrow and the Stars")

As both Kellys were away from key military targets, they probably survived the historic 7 December bombing of Pearl Harbor.
