Emma Peel, also known as Mrs. Peel, was a fictional television spy played by Diana Rigg in the 1960s series The Avengers.
Biography[]
She was the partner of John Steed, another spy. The character also appeared in comic book and film incarnations of the series. The character was notable as a feminist heroine. She was a master of martial arts and a formidable fencer.
At some point before 1969 Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln contributed to the defeat of the cybernauts in conjunction with a pair of British intelligence operatives. Lincoln thought that Mrs. Peel never had to go poking around under the furniture. (TOS novel: Assignment: Eternity)
