Emony Dax was a joined Trill who lived in the 23rd century and was the third host of the Dax symbiont. Emony's family name was Odaren before she was joined.
Biography[]
When Emony was a youth, she saw Ymoc City destroyed by the impact of an asteroid. (DS9 - Day of Honor novel: Armageddon Sky)
Emony Dax was a professional gymnast, and competed at the 2224 Olympics on Aldebaran, where she beat out a favored Argelian athlete to win three latinum medals. Following her career as a competitor, she became a judge for gymnastic meets. She met, and engaged in a brief affair with, Leonard McCoy during one such gymnastics competition at "Ole Miss". By 2257, Emony had retired from participating in athletic competitions, in order to give way to those younger than her. She joined a study group. In that year, Dax witnessed the dikironium cloud creature attacking the USS Farragut and met Lieutenant James T. Kirk. Soon after, she was tasked by Admiral Katrina Cornwell to investigate the creature as part of an unofficial Starfleet/Section 31 team that included the disgraced former Starfleet cadet Sean Finnegan and the deposed Terran Empire emperor Philippa Georgiou. For this mission, Emony posed as a Starfleet lieutenant. (DSC novel: Die Standing)
Both Jadzia and Ezri Dax have recalled Emony's memories when performing physical activities. (DS9 novel: Hollow Men, DS9 episode: "Take Me Out to the Holosuite", DS9 - Prophecy and Change short story: "Chiaroscuro")
In 2371, Leeta agreed to have Emony's personality and memories transferred to herself during Jadzia Dax's Zhian'tara. (DS9 episode: "Facets")
