An Energy Dragon.
An Energy Dragon was a creature native to Ndora. Leonard McCoy had heard of them, but never thought he'd live to see one. In 2266, he and Spock, their brain patterns having been copied and placed into cerebots, were attacked by one while searching the planet for evidence which would clear James T. Kirk of criminal charges. They succeeded in destroying it with their phasers, but not before it damaged McCoy's cerebot. (TOS comic: "The Trial of Captain Kirk")
