Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

An engineering console or engineering station was an adaptation of technology, a computer control console interface for engineering systems manned by an engineer or engineering officer. Engineering consoles provided electronic and mechanical support and power system readouts for engines and defense systems on space stations, spacecraft and outposts.

Engineering consoles are one of the main consoles in the game mechanics of ST video game: Star Trek Online.

History and specifications[]

Subsystem overview[]

In the 22nd century, the United Earth's Earth Starfleet had an engineering station of the main bridge of early spacecraft, usually manned by an operations division engineering officer or chief engineer. (Enterprise)

By the 23rd century, a Federation Starfleet engineering station was quite similar. (Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: The Original Series; ST reference: Star Fleet Technical Manual)

In the 24th century, a Federation starship's bridge engineering station could be used to transfer most of the chief engineer's work gallery to the top deck. Configurations of this type included the Galaxy-class Enterprise-D. (TNG season 2)
