Epsilon Boötis (or Izar) is a binary star system located in the Alpha Quadrant. It contains at least three planets, one of which, Izar, is a Federation member world. (ST references: Star Charts, Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library)

Specifics

Izar orbits a K class orange star. (ST references: Worlds of the Federation, Star Charts)

The system is located in Starfleet Intelligence sector 1. (FASA RPG module: Star Fleet Intelligence Manual)

Fourth planet Izar IV is, in the late 24th century, a holding of the Romulan Star Empire, and a friendly port-of-call for starships of the Romulan Imperial Fleet. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)

In SFC3 gameplay, this name was part of a list that was applied to planets on the game map, with random attributes assigned to them. Most other Star Trek sources show Izar as being in Federation space, despite this fourth planet of Izar's system apparently harboring Romulans.

System

  • Epsilon Boötis (primary)
    • Epsilon Boötis I
    • Epsilon Boötis II
    • Izar (Epsilon Boötis III)
    • Izar IV (Epsilon Boötis IV)
    • Epsilon Boötis V
FASA RPG module: The Federation reported Izar to be the second planet in the system.
