Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Epsilon XXI was a planet, the twenty-first planet in the Epsilon multiple star system, located within Federation space in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2279, after launching from the Starport in San Francisco, the Free Trader freighter Orion's next port of call was Epsilon XXI. Covertly, the ship was transporting a number of Maroni for use as slaves, but their efforts were exposed by Vice-Admiral James T. Kirk, who was invited to command the vessel by its owner Morbus so as to give the ship legitimacy. Morbus was unaware that the Maroni permitted the transit in order to visit and explore new worlds, and were looking forward to visiting Epsilon XXI. They were never in any danger — they were telepathically capable of overcoming the ship's crew at any time. (TOS comic: "The Retirement of Admiral Kirk")
