Erhard Voss was a 23rd century Human man. He served as lead mechanic aboard the Federation guardship Dorado under the command of Captain Louis Jago in 2265.

History[]

In 2265, supported by hardcore partners Kefford and Martin, Voss incited a mutiny against Jago. Voss kept Lieutenant Horek hostage and diverted Dorado toward the Klingon Empire in hopes of trading classified documents for political asylum. When the USS Enterprise approached, Voss slyly jettisoned fuel that ignited and disabled the starship.

Voss requested a parley with Scaptar, but intended to kidnap the Klingon envoy for leverage. However, the envoy in a Klingon transit-hopper turned out to be a robot filled with deadly gas. When James T. Kirk hailed Dorado and exposed the robot, Duncan said they should surrender, but Voss punched him, shot down the transit-hopper, and took Dorado deeper into Klingon territory.

During the ship's approach to the planet Necros, Horek warned that they could spark interstellar war. Voss angrily struck him with the butt of his phaser, knocking him out. This allowed Spock to manipulate the unconscious Vulcan's body to sabotage shields and sensors, and he was able to trick Voss into diverting back to Federation territorry. Voss and his fellow mutineers were apprehended by the Enterprise. (TOS comic: "Mutiny on the Dorado")

Voss did not wear a Starfleet uniform and appeared to serve in a non-Starfleet border patrol service.
