Erin Macdonald was a 24th[3] and 25th century Federation citizen, a Human woman serving as a science officer in Starfleet from the 2380s[1] to the 2410s decades. She was a doctor in astrophysics and held the rank of commander. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Taken By Surprise")

Biography[]

24th century[]

At Starfleet Academy, Cadet Macdonald minored in engineering. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Taken By Surprise")

Macdonald was a friend of Jadzia Dax. In 2374, she worked at the Daystrom Institute. (DS9 - The Dog of War comic: "Issue 2")

During the rescue operation of the damaged USS Archimedes at Lapeeria by the USS Cerritos on stardate 58130.6 in the year 2381, Lieutenant Shaxs reminded Lieutenant Kayshon that Doctor Erin had told them warping past the debris separating the starships was something the Cerritos could not do. (LD episode: "First First Contact")

Lieutenant Commander Macdonald served as an instructor at Starfleet Academy in 2384. When Doctor Macdonald observed warrant officer-in-training Rok-Tahk take care of Murf, she discussed a career as exobiologist with the young Brikar. (PRD episode: "Supernova")

At Starfleet Academy, she taught the courses Temporal Mechanics 101 and 201. (PRD episodes: "Temporal Mechanics 101", "Ouroboros, Part II")

25th century[]

In the year 2411, Commander Macdonald served aboard the Augur-class science vessel USS Inouye. Captain Harry Kim's ship was present at Starbase 1 when it came under attack from Tzen-Tarrak's cube, a Borg cube from the mirror universe that arrived in the Sol star system of the primary universe through a reality vortex. Doctor Macdonald welcomed a Khitomer Alliance away team aboard the ship when they arrived in the transporter room. Together, they fought Borg and headed to Captain Kim's location in a science lab. The team then joined Kim while Lieutenant Wen escorted Macdonald towards engineering. On deck three, Macdonald came under attack from the Borg. In the Jefferies tubes, Captain Kim erected a security field to protect the doctor. Macdonald arrived in engineering while Kim tried to secure the room from incoming Borg boarding parties. She used her engineering knowledge to secure the ship's protomatter technology from the Borg Kingdom. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Taken By Surprise")
