Hemingway lived outside the United States for most of his life. For a time he lived in the Left Bank in Paris. (DS9 novel: Trapped in Time)

William Riker liked Hemingway's work, like A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls. (TNG novel: The Eyes of the Beholders)
