For other uses, see Ethan.
See Matthews for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

"Ethan Matthews" was a Klingon spy who had replaced the real Matthews sometime in 2266. He was a member of the betleH 'etlh, the "Blades of the Bat'leth". In the guise of a USS Enterprise security guard, he had orders to assassinate Captain James T. Kirk at the first opportunity.

Later that year, "Matthews" and Edward Rayburn accompanied Captain Kirk and Christine Chapel to the surface of Exo III to ascertain the location of Doctor Roger Korby's archaeological expedition. "Matthews" was killed by the android Ruk along with Rayburn. (TOS episode: "What Are Little Girls Made Of?")
