Eve McHuron was a 23rd century Human woman, once an associate of Harry Mudd.

Biography[]

She grew up in an agricultural colony with few men. She cleaned and cooked for her two brothers, and her only friends were automatons.

In 2266, she became charmed by Mudd and agreed to his arrangement to become a bride on Ophiucus III. McHuron became one of three beauties "created" from ordinary women by Mudd's Venus drug. When Ben Childress was infatuated with her on Rigel XII, she revealed her normal self to shock him, then took the drug to show how it changed her into a beauty, berating him for being taken in by such ephemerals. In fact, James T. Kirk had substituted fakes for the drugs and Eve was creating her own beauty. She and Ben agreed to work on their relationship. (TOS episode & Mudd's Angels novelization: Mudd's Women)

By the 2280s decade, she and Childress had married and founded Childress Drilling, building the firm into a highly lucrative dilithium mining operation. She worked wearing the same attire as her employees, treating herself only with dilithium earrings. However, their office floor was inlaid with Rigellian flamegems and her desk was made of alvera-wood.

Childress died in an accident and she mourned him deeply. She became CEO of the company and was proud of her husband's legacy.

In the 2280s, she had been contacted by Dr. Carol Marcus, who was searching for lifeless planetary candidates for Project Genesis. McHuron aided Marcus in her efforts, but her recommended location ended up having life after all, small microorganisms. Afterward she was curious enough and connected enough to call in favors at Starfleet Command and acquire a copy of the data. She was aware of the events surrounding Genesis' failure.

In 2290, Mudd had been contacted by a broker to sell Genesis, and he deduced that she had a copy. He eventually convinced her to sell it, and they traveled together to Phocis Harju V. There, they discovered the broker was their former associate Ruth Bonaventure and their client was Portal 57 of the long-lost Tkon Empire. She realized that Portal intended to restore his empire with a Genesis Device and alter history, possibly erasing the Federation from existence, and defied Portal. Her efforts were not in vain. Portal came to accept the extinction of his civilization and used Genesis to cause his star to go supernova 600,000 years ago, ensuring that history would not change. (TOS - Strange New Worlds 2016 short story: "Dilithium Is a Girl's Best Friend")

Her entries in Fact Files and the unofficial Concordance assumed that she married Childress after the events of the episode. Her height and weight were those of Karen SteeleMA, the actor who portrayed her in "Mudd's Women".
