Ezekiel "Zeke" Fisher was a human doctor serving in Starfleet in the 23rd century. Born circa 2185, he joined Starfleet circa 2215, and by 2265, when he was chief medical officer of Starbase 47, he'd grown weary of the service. His plans to retire and return home to Mars were cast into doubt when his intended replacement, Dr. Jabilo M'Benga, requested a transfer to starship duty.

His wife, Hannah, died of natural causes some years prior to 2265. He has two sons, Ely and Noah, a daughter, Jane, and a number of grandchildren.

He put his retirement plans on hold when he learned the truth about Starfleet's presense in the Taurus Reach, the mysterious meta-genome discovered by the USS Constellation in 2263.
