Ezekiel "Zeke" Fisher was a male human physician born circa 2185.

Starfleet career

Early career

Fisher joined Starfleet circa 2215. (VAN novel: Reap the Whirlwind)

In 2249 he was serving on the USS Artemis with Diego Reyes. (VAN novella: The Ruins of Noble Men)

USS Dauntless

During the 2250s and early 2260s, Doctor Fisher was serving as chief medical officer of the USS Dauntless under the command of Captain Diego Reyes.

In 2259, Fisher saved the life of Kintazh, son of Gorkon from theragen poisoning, following a botched mission in which the Klingons accidentally exposed themselves to the deadly substance. (VAN novella: The Ruins of Noble Men)

Starbase 47 - Vanguard

In 2265, Fisher transferred to Vanguard with Commodore Reyes to serve as chief medical officer of the Watchtower-class space station. He had intended to retire in that year and return to his home on Mars, but his plans were disrupted by two factors: his intended replacement, Dr. Jabilo M'Benga, requested a transfer to starship duty, and the encounters with the Shedai in the Taurus Reach, following Starfleet's studies of the Taurus meta-genome, intrigued him enough to stay. (VAN novels: Harbinger, Reap the Whirlwind)

Fisher finally retired from Starfleet in late 2268, handing in his notice to station commander, Rear Admiral Heihachiro Nogura. He was due to leave Vanguard aboard the civilian starship, SS Lisbon, but, when a Tholian armada attacked the station, he disembarked the ship to tend to the wounded in Vanguard Hospital. Disregarding an order from acting CMO, Gonzalo Robles, Fisher accompanied Lieutenant junior grade Fellaren th'Shoras to Phaser Control Delta in order to treat injured crew. Just as they'd retrieved them, Tholian fire created a hull breach in their vicinity, sucking Fisher, Shor and the two wounded crewmembers into space. (VAN novel: Storming Heaven)

Personal life

Fisher's wife, Hannah, died of natural causes some years prior to 2265. Together, they had two sons, Ely and Noah, and a daughter, Jane. Jane and her husband, Neil, had two sons themselves, James and Seth, Fisher's grandchildren. (VAN novels: Harbinger, Summon the Thunder, Reap the Whirlwind)

Fisher was a close personal friend of Diego Reyes, having known him since the mid-2240s. He also became good friends with Hallie Gannon and Terence Sadler when they served together on the Dauntless.

While assigned to Vanguard, Fisher befriended Reyes' girlfriend, Judge Advocate General representative, Captain Rana Desai, the station's colonial liaison officer, Aole Miller, and Dr. Jabilo M'Benga. (VAN novella: The Ruins of Noble Men)

According to David Mack, Dr. Fisher holds the rank of Commander while serving on Vanguard; however, this was never established in the books themselves.
