Faant was a wet and steamy agricultural world on the outskirts of Klingon territory and bordering Orion space. The native humanoids of the planet, known as Faantines, did most of the farming on the planet.
Faant had a sizeable Orion population with about 1.2 million residing within the capital city of Koriath. Orion traders often visited the planet; however, Klingon Admiral Kazh epetai-Zulor, veteran of the Four Years War, restricted the size, tonnage and cargo that traders could employ so as to keep the Orion colonists under control.
