The Fairbanks Icebreakers were a professional baseball team in the 21st century, based in the city of Fairbanks, Alaska.

History and specifics[]

They were the only professional baseball team, and one of only a few professional franchises in any sport, to play in the state of Alaska.

On October 7, 2026, the Icebreakers played against the Phoenix Sunsets for the championship of the American League. The Icebreakers lost that game 4-3.

The Icebreakers and their history remained a point of some pride to natives of Alaska for centuries after the team's dissolution. (TNG novel: Fortune's Light)
