The Faraday was a Federation shuttlecraft attached to the Sovereign-class USS Enterprise-E.
In July 2384, Captain Jean-Luc Picard piloted the Faraday to the artificial intelligence starship Altanexa, in close proximity to the Machine. The shuttle's port landing strut was used to deliver a small colony of non-sentient nanites that infiltrated Altanexa's systems enabling the Enterprise crew to assist Data, Rhea McAdams and the Immortal Ahkarin to escape from their captivity aboard the AI starship.
