In an alternate Mirror Universe, Farpoint Station was an extraterrestrial lifeform that, in Jean-Luc Picard's opinion, was sent by the inhabitants of Farpoint to attack ISS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D).

This resulted in Picard's first action as commanding officer of Enterprise - he destroyed the creature on stardate 41153.7 in 2364. (TNG novel: Dark Mirror).

Note that Dark Mirror refers to the venue as Farpoint and not Deneb IV, that it does not call the people the Bandi and that the lifeform is not referred to as a star-jelly,which it was called in Orion's Hounds.
