The Farragut class^[1] was a 23rd century Federation starship type, a cruiser^[1] class in Starfleet service in the 2250s decade. (SNW episode: "Strange New Worlds")

In the 25th century, the class was revived as a tier 6-rated temporal cruiser, entering service in Starfleet and its Khitomer Alliance partners in the 2410s decade. The class was represented by the USS Farragut (NCC-1647). (STO website: Ascension: Command the Farragut!)

History and specifics[]

USS Farragut 2411 — The *Farragut* at Earth in 2411.

In the year 2257, the Farragut was a Constitution-class heavy cruiser. The ship and its crew suffered a catastrophic disaster in the year 2257, when it was attacked by a dikironium cloud creature. (DSC novel: Die Standing)

Starfleet operated ships of the Farragut-class by 2259. In that year, a vessel of this class was docked inside a Federation shipyard, alongside the Constitution-class USS Enterprise. (SNW episode: "Strange New Worlds")

In 2411, Starfleet commissioned or recommissioned a Farragut-class USS Farragut. The vessel, at one point, entered Earth's orbit. (STO website: Ascension: Command the Farragut!)

Alternate timelines[]

In an alternate timeline where Christopher Pike remained captain of the USS Enterprise, James T. Kirk had attained command of the USS Farragut by 2266. In this timeline, the Farragut appeared in a Farragut-class configuration. (SNW episode: "The Quality of Mercy")
