Fayo was a class M planet located in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was the homeworld of the developing Fayon civilization.
History and specifics[]
Fayo had a moderate climate and blue sky. The planet was non-aligned, but both the people and its government were familiar with the Federation and Starfleet. By the 23rd century, technology on the planet was comparable to Earth of the pre-industrial 18th or 19th century, with horse-drawn carriages and no electricity.
In 2266, Fayo was orbited by the starship USS Enterprise and visited by James T. Kirk, Spock and Montgomery Scott. Emperor Bavoda asked them to enroll his son Yano in Starfleet Academy to broaden his education. Kirk agreed, but after Fayo beamed aboard, Spock was kidnapped by a terrorist, and Yano agreed to a hostage exchange. Bavoda was enraged by the turn of events and demanded that the Enterprise leave orbit. Once the ship exceeded the range of local telescopes, a landing party secretly returned to help Fayo.
