The Ferengi Latinum Consortium was a business run by the Ferengi Alliance.

History and specifics[]

In 2376, one of its leading members was DaiMon Poe who discovered the existence of a stable sample of the Omega molecule and intended to sell it to the Cardassian Union. This later attracted the attention of the Romulan Star Empire who dispatched Admiral Sela to retrieve the particle. She later attacked the Ferengi vessels but DaiMon Poe eventually decided not to engage in further conflict. He decided on a more equitable solution to the problem where the Romulans provided the Latinum Consortium with two freighters full of Dilithium whereupon the Ferengi gave Sela the Omega particle.
