The Feynman (NCC-1701-D/05) was a Federation type-7 shuttlecraft in service to Starfleet in the mid-24th century. It was named for Richard Phillips Feynman. (ST website : StarTrek.com)
History[]
The shuttle was assigned to the USS Enterprise-D in the 2360s. In 2367, the Feynman was used by Geordi La Forge and Reginald Barclay to inspect the Argus Array. (TNG episode: "The Nth Degree")
In 2369, the Feynman was flown by Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Doctor Beverly Crusher, and Lieutenant Worf during a covert operation. (TNG episode: "Chain of Command")
In 2370, Worf piloted Feynman inside the Jenolan Dyson Sphere, bringing Beverly Crusher and Guinan to dock astern of the USS Darwin. Later, Feynman was jury rigged with spare spares, its life support removed, and attached to Nadir and Cousteau to serve as a booster for an indigenous starfish ark to save thousands of sea swifts from extinction. (TNG novel: Dyson Sphere)
