The Al-Biruni (NCC-1701/5) was a 23rd century[1] Federation auxiliary craft, a teardrop-shaped Class F[1] shuttlecraft in Starfleet service in the mid- to late 2260s decade. Around that time, the Al-Biruni was assigned to the Constitution-class starship USS Enterprise. (The Official Starships Collection Issue Bonus Edition 18: "Jefferies Concept")
History and disposition[]
The Al-Biruni was assigned to the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk. At some point during the five-year mission from 2265 to 2270, the Al-Biruni performed a departure from the ship's shuttlebay. (The Official Starships Collection Issue Bonus Edition 18: "Jefferies Concept")
A baseline Class F shuttle with the registry number NCC-1701/5 also operated from the Enterprise around the same time. (TOS - The Classic UK Comics, Volume 2 comic: "Creeping Death")
