Janel Tigan

Janel Tigan

Janel Tigan was a Trill male who lived during the 24th century. He was the son of Yanas Tigan and the elder brother of Ezri Dax and Norvo Tigan.

When Janel was young, he joined his family on a trip to the Jewel Caves. (DS9 short story: "Ninety-three Hours")

In 2374, following a Ferengi discovery of pergium on Timor II that saw the price of pergium fall, Janel turned to the Orion Syndicate for help in solving the financial difficulties of the company. Thadial Bokar later forced Janel to pay Morica Bilby several bars of latinum a month.

In 2375, Bokar organized sabotage of Tigan mining equipment when an Orion Syndicate affiliated worker was dismissed. When Morica demanded more money, she was killed by Norvo. (DS9 episode: "Prodigal Daughter")

In 2376, Ezri experienced a different reality, due to the cathedral artifact, where Janel and Norvo had been killed in a cave-in several years earlier. In this reality, Ezri had stepped in to help her mother run the family company. (DS9 novel: Cathedral)
