Reyga was a Ferengi man, a scientist who developed metaphasic shielding.

Biography[]

He first gained notoriety when he presented his theories at the Altine Conference in 2369. Doctor Beverly Crusher later invited Reyga to demonstrate his shield aboard the USS Enterprise-D for fellow scientists Dr. T'Pan of Vulcan, Dr. Christopher of Earth, Klingon Dr. Kurak , and Takaran Dr. Jo'Bril.

Reyga was murdered by Jo'Bril, made to appear that he was killed by his shield's failure. Crusher eventually discovered Jo'Bril's crime by violating Ferengi death rites and performing an autopsy. (TNG episode: "Suspicions")

Legacy[]

By 2409, Reyga's metaphasic shield was pre-equipped on all Na'Far-class shuttles sold by the Lobi Crystal Consortium. (STO mission: "Spin the Wheel")

Alternate timelines[]

In an alternate timeline thrown into disarray by the temporal anomaly crisis, versions of Doctor Reyga returned to life, and allied themselves with Grand Nagus Rom's Ferengi Alliance, and the Federation. (ST video game: Timelines)
