The USS Trafalgar (NCC-52427[1]) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Steamrunner-class heavy frigate in Starfleet service from the 2370s decade, one of a number of ships to be named USS Trafalgar[2]. (ST video game: Armada)

Service history and disposition[]

The Steamrunner-class Trafalgar succeeded the Larson-class USS Trafalgar (NCC-4304), in service in the 23rd century. (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)

The new Trafalgar was on active duty by the 2370s decade. In the year 2376, the Trafalgar was on the frontlines of the Borg Invasion of 2376. At the time, Starfleet outfitted Steamrunner-class destroyers with a tricobalt torpedo launcher and the engine overload special weapon. The Trafalgar became involved in battles with the Borg Collective, leading to an assault on the Sol star system itself, and a Federation Alliance counter-strike at Locutus in the Delta Quadrant. (ST video game: Armada)

Six months later, the Borg Invasion of 2377 and a Cardassian uprising led by Gul Kentar bound Starfleet forces. Starfleet deployed its long-range artillery ships in the Regula Badlands and again in the Delta Quadrant, where the fleets encountered Species 8472. (ST video game: Armada II)

In a Starfleet Academy training scenario presented by Lieutenant Commander Carey in 2379, the Trafalgar was a deployable vessel. (ST video game: Armada II mission: Tutorial)

No specific history or definitive final fate was established for this vessel as its name was selected for a frigate by the Armada game developers, and is placed randomly each time the ship appears.

In the aftermath of the Unine attack on Earth Spacedock in 2410[3], the Trafalgar was one of the Federation ships permanently on patrol around the station. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

403rd survey squadron

The 403rd's assignment patch.

Following the re-activation of the Iconian Gateway Network across the Milky Way Galaxy in 2410, the Trafalgar was requisitioned for Starfleet's new four-quadrant strategy of exploration. Starfleet Command hastily assembled survey squadrons. The Trafalgar was assigned to the 403rd Survey Squadron, led by the Pathfinder-class long-range science vessel prototype USS Pathfinder. (STO Issue 07: "USS Pathfinder")

Trafalgar saucer

The Trafalgar in 2411.

In 2411, the Steamrunner class received a refit to tier 6 specifications. For a time around stardate 88168.8[4], the Trafalgar performed its patrol around Earth Spacedock with just its saucer section. (STO - Reflections mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
