A firing squad is a group of soldiers tasked with the execution of a prisoner condemned to die by the death penalty.
History and specifics
In 2153, the Denobulan Science Academy asked Charles Tucker II and Malcolm Reed to remove Yolen from caverns before they were all put before a Xantoras firing squad. (ENT episode: "The Breach")
In 2266, the mad Romulan Praetor ordered Keras's family to be executed following the loss of the ChR Gal Gath'thong near the Romulan Neutral Zone. His wife Arenn and son Gaius had been lined up for execution when the praetor changed his mind. (TOS - The Hollow Crown comic: "Issue 1")
Later that year, Romulans captured George Maguire and his pilots. A sergeant ordered them to be executed by firing squad, unaware that they'd escaped and disguised themselves as guards. (TOS comic: "Key Witness")
