First Strike is a Star Trek: The Original Series novel by Diane Carey, published in July 1996. This was the first part of the Invasion! crossover.
Description
- Long ago, even before the days of myth and legend, our worlds belonged to them. Now they want them back…
- Captain Kirk is stunned when the Federation receives an urgent plea for help—from the Klingon Empire. A mysterious starship has invaded Klingon space and resisted all their efforts to destroy it. Establishing contact with the stranger's ship, Kirk discovers that it is only the vanguard of a vast alien fleet obsessed with conquering the Klingons, the Federation, the Romulans, and all who dwell in the space that was once their own.
- The invasion has begun…

Appendices
Background
- Kligat is spelled "klegat".
- Topaline is misspelled "toparine".
- The series featured a four-panel cover by Keith Birdsong showing characters from each book surrounding a broken image of one of the Furies. The complete cover art was used for the omnibus edition, but the Furies character's face was obscured by the title. The face could be seen in a promotional poster for the series. Additionally, on this volume it was decided to feature the Enterprise.
