In the alternate reality which the Time Lord known as the Doctor called home, fixed points in time were immovable events that could not be altered. The Doctor identified the Battle of Wolf 359 as a fixed point in time, warning his human companions against preventing the tragedy. (TNG - Assimilation² comic: "Issue 7")

Kathryn Janeway's death across the multiverse around stardate 57445 (2380) was a fixed point in time, according to Q. According to Q, it was a fact that all versions of Kathryn Janeway must die on that specific stardate. The only two Janeways known to have lived beyond this time- the original Janeway and a Janeway extracted from a point before Voyager entered the Delta Quadrant who was trapped in the main timeline- only surviving with the aid of the Q, as the 'original' Janeway actually died before being brought back to life by Q's son and Kes, and the alternate Janeway was saved by Q in the guise of a local doctor. (VOY novels: The Eternal Tide, Acts of Contrition, A Pocket Full of Lies)
