Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Flyer was a 23rd century Kzinti man who served the Kzinti Patriarchy as helmsman aboard the Kzinti warship prototype Giant Killer in the early 2270s decade.

Biography[]

As part of the Kzinti occupation of Mimit in the 2270s, and operating out of its Kzinti ground base, Flyer and his fellow crew were disavowed by the Kzinti government because their actions violated the Treaty of Sirius. However, they hoped to achieve a noble victory that would earn them names and land.

In the year 2274, while patrolling two days distant from Mimit, Flyer was on the bridge when Giant Killer detected the approach of the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise. Telepath determined that Enterprise was en route to Mimit. If they arrived, Flyer said they'd have no chance of getting land or names, and Fth-Captain ordered firing of their Hamstringer weapon, which left Enterprise defenseless. When Enterprise escaped at warp speed, Flyer was certain that the Mimit Defense Squadron could defeat the starship. Nonetheless, Fth-Captain asked him to pursue at maximum warp.

Flyer alerted Fth-Captain when battle began over Mimit, and praised their luck that they arrived in time to join it. However, Ravagers were beamed onto Giant Killer that caused indiscriminate mayhem. Reporting that their ship was disabled, Flyer asked if they should surrender before they lost life support. Instead, he and Fth-Captain were transported to Blood Gnat, which departed Mmimit for Free Trader territory, where they and other survivors would live as exiled pirates. (TOS comic: "The Wristwatch Plantation")
