The Fockewulfe Fu-190 was a type of German fighter used during World War II. The aircraft was swift and maneuverable, and considered to be one of the finest fighters in 1942.

The actual name of the World War II airplane was the Focke-Wulf Fw 190.

Service history[]

In the year 1942, Pavel Chekov was trapped in the past and was leading a squadron of Russian Yakovlev YAK-1 fighters. While escorting a B-24 Liberator carrying American diplomat Averell Harriman, a squadron of Fockewulfe Fu-190s attacked the Allied aircraft before they could reach Sweden. Pavel's aircraft was shot down in the process. (TOS novel: Home Is the Hunter)
