Fontana Meadow was a grassy, open area within the terrestrial enclosure of starbase Vanguard. The meadow bordered the commercial and residential district of Stars Landing. Civilians and crew often played games or sports in the open space, or swam in one of the swimming pools. (VAN novels: Harbinger, Storming Heaven)
After the destruction of the USS Bombay in 2265, a Denevan dogwood tree was planted in the meadow to honour the ship and crew. (VAN novel: Harbinger)
In 2268, a memorial service for Commander Aole Miller, who died on planet Kadru, was held on the meadow. (VAN novella: The Ruins of Noble Men)
