Ten ForwardCoda novels changes to continuity (Reply | Watch)

Hi everyone,

As some might know, the Coda novel series starts today. The solicitations have promised that it will create widespread changes to the novel publishing program, and in POV, changes to the Star Trek universe.

I just want to remind everyone to place {{spoilers}} at the head of articles when they make updates related to new sources in all cases.

In particular, Coda might drop some bombshells that indicate certain topics are alternate or parallel to the way they are currently listed here on Memory Beta. While the solicitation might make this seem like a clear cut case of spinning off a new continuity, i want to caution users from taking their first impressions as cause to delete data, move articles, and other drastic changes, so on and so forth, before the series has concluded.

Just because the first impression might lead you to believe there is a predestined ending which might be cause to make a major article rearrangement based on the first book, i think the authors might have more tricks up their sleeve for the later books which could present a twist to any such first impressions. feel free to open a talk page before making a major move or change, also with a spoilers tag, so we can absorb the changes with a minimum of confusion.

As always, a major move, change or deletion of data should be accompanied with a background note as well in cases where it deals with involved continuity issues. our readers are not mind readers - we maintain the site to explain things to them -- captainmike •••• 13:53, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Sounds good. Kind regards, -- Markonian 16:31, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
