Ten Forward → Mirror Universe and Myriad Universes as series (Reply | Watch) |
I was thinking that perhaps we should consider adding Mirror and Myriad Universes as series in the series lists. Both series seem to be an ongoing thing, and in the case of Mirror Universe it has almost as many books now as Titan and Vanguard, more if you consider the three novellas in the first two books separate entities. --JDB 16:19, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
- I've pondered this one myself, and while these two do have a slightly grey area, I've concluded that they're in the right place, here's my logic: All the other series have a defining setting, chronological placement, and cast of characters. All the miniseries cannibalise one or more of these series and present it in a certain thematically linked way. The numbers argument doesn't stand up, as other crossover series such as Gateways, and other anthology like The Captain's Table, Unlimited, Strange New Worlds, Alien Spotlight, etc. The grey area I refer to is that unlike other anthology series, the Mirror and Myriad series defining thematic link is also a setting, the mirror universe, and the collective of alternate universes. But even considering that both series fit more comfortably in the miniseries category than being series in themselves. --8of5 17:05, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
What you say there makes sense. Although the main point I was considering was the fact that they don't seem to be ending.– JDB 00:59, January 17, 2010 (UTC)
