Ten ForwardSeparating Strange New Worlds (Reply | Watch)

CBS has just announced a brand-new Star Trek live-action series for CBSAA. It's title is Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. That's a great title, Imho, and the "SNW" shortcut just lends itself. The only problem is... there's already an anthology series called Strange New Worlds, and we use the SNW abbrev for it. While it's a tad bit early to discuss it, I thought we should get the ball rolling early. My initial suggestion is to rename the novel series into "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (anthology)" or "(novels)" or "(anthology series"). But both series deserve the SNW prefix. Kind regards, -- Markonian 18:00, May 15, 2020 (UTC)

Actually, i've been going through and removing the "SNW"s i find simply because the Strange New Worlds anthology series wasnt a 'series' in and of itself (each entry uses "TOS", "TNG" etc.. so the abbreviation will be fairly easy to wipe away in favor of the new show). -- captainmike Site-logo.png 18:32, May 15, 2020 (UTC)

Wow, the long-lost "What Links Here" still exists! Looking forward to the release of the first SNW episode so we can start linking it. When that time has come, would the Short Treks with Pike, Spock and the Enterprise retroactively be linked to SNW? The way the Blu-Rays established "Children of Mars" as a PIC story. In cases like that I'd very much like to wait for the release to reflect the assignment of the series - for example, prior to the release of any PIC discs, i would ~not~ consider Children of Mars to be a PIC series entry. the inclusion of a series header on the disc release is how we assign the citation - so we wouldnt assign SNW to anything until they make that call and release it with the SNW banner -- captainmike Site-logo.png 23:09, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
