Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

what is everyones opinions on the new show. Let's start a discussion , we are only a month away from debut!70.69.113.62 19:34, August 27, 2017 (UTC)

Opinion discussion in Ten-Forward in somewhat against the ability of the wiki to moderate. I'm excited about the show because it seems to have a good prospect of new high quality licensed material for the wiki, which is a bit more relevant to discuss. Its the only time in the history of the wiki we've had a premiere of new televised canon material to add on top of the normal stream of licensed works we catalogue here -- captainmike Wiki-wordmark 21:23, August 27, 2017 (UTC)

I would be interested in applying to be the person who updates and fills in the wiki as episodes are broadcast. How can I send in my resume for this position. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.68.215.67 (talk • contribs) .

This discussion feels similar to another one from late last year. So let me reiterate what was said there: Adding content to this wiki is not a paid position. Users, whether registered or not, add information to it at their own leasure. Other users, as well as us admins of course, check the facts and correct the information where neccessary and wherever/whenever a mistake is noticed. We all do so in our free time, and we are not paid for any of it. This wiki is an information databse. Now, if you wish to apply for a job with Wikia, the company that is hosting this site, then please contact them directly. All I wanted to do was contribute. I am surprised at the hostility. I didn't even ask for money , I just thought yo would have to be vetted to be an admin and content provider. The preceding unsigned comment was added by . 70.69.113.62 (talk • contribs) .

Apologies if you find the explanation hostile. But its content is accurate. If you wish to contribute to this wiki, simply sign up and you can get started. I've been learning the modus operandi step by step, and I started by adding info to existing pages (which taught me the writing style and how to cite the source). And still today, when I write a brand-new page, I look for a page with similar content, copy it, and rewrite that copy to fit the new article. How do you feel about that? Kind regards, -- Markonian 06:45, September 3, 2017 (UTC)
There's no hostility here, each post has simply been followed with a response from an established user explaining why it was incorrect to have been posted here. -- captainmike Wiki-wordmark 16:16, September 3, 2017 (UTC)
