The Founder[src]

A Founder of the Dominion was hidden within the Tong Beak Nor space station before the conclusion of the Dominion War. In 2378, this Changeling was released, then promptly executed, by Yeor, a Vorta that had become disenchanted with the reign of the murdered shapeshifter's people.

Biography[]

At some point before the conclusion of the Dominion War — a galactic conflict between the Dominion and the Federation Alliance — a Founder was hidden within the Tong Beak Nebula. Kept within a capsule located onboard the Cardassian space station Tong Beak Nor, the Changeling was housed alongside various weapons and Bajoran artifacts. Because of its location, it became the only Changeling that was not infected with the morphogenic virus that contaminated the Great Link and was therefore spared. Ultimately, the conflict ended with the defeat of the Dominion, which signed a peace agreement with the United Federation of Planets and its allies, but the Changeling remained hidden within the Nebula, waiting until the time was right. Eventually, the Vorta administrator Yeor became aware of its' location, but joined the Cardassian Reclamation as a counsellor, having become embittered to the Founders. YeorkillsFounder

The Founder dies at the hands of Yeor.

In 2378, Yeor travelled to Tong Beak Nebula, which had been previously taken over by cultists belonging to the Red Path. Making his way to where the Founder was kept, Yeor released it before the eyes of Captain Benjamin Sisko and the Jem'Hadar Zero, introducing the being as a god. After the Changeling took shape of a humanoid, however, it exclaimed in confusion when Yeor launched into a tirade about the limitations that the leaders of the Dominion had imposed on their servant races, concluding with the declaration that it had been the Founders who had been unworthy of the allegiance shown to them. Before the newly released being could furter react, however, Yeor shot it through the head with a disruptor pistol, killing it. (ST - The Red Path comic: "Part 4")
