Frankenstein's monster was a fictional character who appeared in the 19th century novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
In 2269, the phase compensator jury-rigged by Doctor Pren Kavalas from salvaged components was compared to a "knee-high, alien-tech Frankenstein's monster." (Seekers novel: Long Shot)
In 2273, a USS Enterprise landing party discovered Frankenstein's monster strangling a young woman. When phaser fire did not harm it, Captain James T. Kirk kicked it out of a window. They later learned that it was an illusion created by a Klingon thought enhancer. (TOS comic: "The Haunting of Thallus!")
