Frenchotte was a Romulan composer. During his life he exiled himself and was considered to have been forgotten by the 24th century.
He was dead by the time of the Earth-Romulan War. Terix was an aficionado of Frenchotte. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: To Brave the Storm, ENT novel: Kobayashi Maru)
Jadzia Dax was a fan of Frenchotte's work and played a piece of his music for Arjin aboard the USS Mekong in 2370. (DS9 episode: "Playing God")
In 2373, a work by Frenchotte was played in the atrium of Pardek's villa on the Apnex Sea. (TNG - Section 31 novel: Rogue)
In 2376, Julian Bashir thought to himself that he would rather listen to one of Frenchotte's oratorios than listen to the "music" being given off dimensional distortions which the Sagan could pick up as sound when the distortions hit objects in space. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Cathedral)
