The Fringe Wars were a series of conflicts in Orion history.

Less than a year after he seized power in March 21st, 1003 CE (reference stardate −10/0303.21), Emperor Boyor Ignatin the Righteous issued the Demand for Unity to all seceded and rebellious Orion Colonies. When that didn't work, he sent the Orion Space Navy to bring these worlds back under the control of the Botchok Planetary Congress, triggering the Fringe Wars.

The effort was a total failure. It wasted lives, squandered resources and disrupted trade at Rigel, impoverishing the homeworld of Botchok rather than the rebellious outer Colonies. Weapons were filtered through to the poor and otherwise powerless, and ultimately accelerated the disintegration of Orion society. It also saw many Grey Orion families on the outermost worlds annihilated, beginning the Dispossession. (FASA RPG modules: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge, The Orions: Book of Deep Knowledge)
