Fth-Captain was a 23rd century Kzinti man who served the Kzinti Patriarchy as commander of the Kzinti warship prototype Giant Killer in the early 2270s decade.
Biography[]
As part of the Kzinti occupation of Mimit in the 2270s, and operating out of its Kzinti ground base, Fth-Captain and his crew were disavowed by the Kzinti government because their actions violated the Treaty of Sirius. However, they hoped to achieve a noble victory that would earn them names and land.
In the year 2274, while patrolling two days distant from Mimit, Giant Killer detected the approach of the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise. When Telepath learned that the ship was en route to Mimit, Fth-Captain felt they had little choice but to attack using their experimental Hamstringer, a directed energy weapon which successfully disabled the Enterprise's artificial gravity generators. Fth-Captain ordered them to fire particle beam cannons while the starship was defenseless, but the Enterprise unexpectedly fled at warp speed.
Fth-Captain warned Mimit Defense Squadron of Enterprise's approach and ordered pursuit at the ship's maximum speed. Giant Killer arrived at Mimit in time to reengage Enterprise in battle with a squadron of Kzinti fighters. He was shocked when a pair of Ravagers were beamed onto his bridge — rampaging creatures that indiscriminately began wrecking equipment and personnel. When Flyer told him that the ship was crippled, Fth-Captain was faced with the choice of surrender and execution or escaping. Surviving crew transferred over to Blood Gnat. Once aboard, he assumed command and ordered the fighter to depart for Free Trader territory as exiled pirates. As Giant Killer self destructed, Fth-Captain vowed to meet Captain James T.
