The Futurama was an exhibit and ride at the New York World's Fair in 1939 and 1940. It showed what people at the time thought technology would be like two decades on.

Benny Russell visited Futurama while at the New York World's Fair in July 1940. (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars)
