Pike vs. Kirk! — "Futures" was the 14th issue of the Marvel-Paramount Comics series of Star Trek: Early Voyages comics. It featured the third of a four-part arc in which Mia Colt was sent into an alternate timeline.

Description[]

Colt gets thrown forward in time to an alternate future, and with Kirk's help, is reunited with Captain Pike and crew of the Enterprise. Pike is none too happy to see his former Yeoman Kirk, and old enmities resurface.

Summary[]

Log entries[]

Captains log, stardate 9521.9
We have intercepted a Federation merchantman after it violated the buffer zone with the Klingon Empire. However, we were obliged to drive off a Klingon warship that was attacking said vessel. The political backwash from which I daren't think about. The merchantman is crippled and we are beaming over her crew. I personally have more than a few choice words for her captain...!

Background[]

  • This is the third part of a four-part story. Like the first part it is entitled "Futures", whereas the second part was titled "Future Tense".
  • In the previous issue this issue was advertised as being titled "Past Imperfect". Similarly this issue advertises the next as "Sacrifices" when it was in fact titled "Now and Then".
  • Robbins was shown with a full head of dark hair in 2293. She may be dyeing it, as Number One's hair went gray by the early 2270s, as seen in TOS - Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor comic: "Hosts".
