Gabrielle Howard

Gabrielle "Gabby" Howard was the wife of United States Army pilot Kevin Howard and mother of Breandán Howard in the early 21st century. When Kevin was killed in the Iraq War in 2003, Gabby struggled to understand the behavior of Breandán, who became withdrawn from almost all human contact, spending much of his time playing with Star Trek action figures in the Howards' backyard. Only once Gabby understood that Kevin had explained his deployment to Iraq in terms of being sent on a mission by Captain Kirk, and that Breandán was making believe that Captain Kirk, Mister Spock, and Doctor McCoy were on a mission to find Kevin, did Gabby discover the key to helping her son recover from his father's death.
