- For other uses, see Galileo.
In 2277, Fleet Admiral Karis Tatenen stole the Galileo from the Enterprise while the ship was in orbit of Pollox IV and attempted to ram three Klingon Kl'ar-class starships also in orbit of the planet. The course set by Tatenen prevented the Enterprise from locking on with a tractor beam and his intention to ram was only stopped when Captain Kang's vessel opened fire and destroyed the Galileo with a single phaser blast. (TOS - Star Trek II Short Stories short story: "The Blaze of Glory")
- The Galileo's class and designation wasn't noted in "The Blaze of Glory", and may have been a different shuttlecraft Galileo to the one described in Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise.
