Game Boy is a family of hand-held video game consoles produced by Nintendo.

The original Game Boy was released in 1989 and was succeeded by (in order of release) the Game Boy Color in 1998 and the Game Boy Advance in 2001. Each model of Game Boy system also had an off-shoot, such as the Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Advance SP and Game Boy Micro for the Game Boy Advance.

The Game Boy family was eventually succeeded by the Nintendo DS family of hand-held consoles.
