Gamma Vertis was a star with an associated star system located in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, in treaty boundary quadrant 1.

History and specifics[]

Gamma Vertis was an orange star and the system's orbit was the location of six worlds, five of which (including fourth planet Gamma Vertis IV) actually orbited a Class A gas giant. It was located in the general vicinity of Cheron and a Kalandan outpost. (ST reference: Star Trek Maps)

It was also known as the Virgo Tacritus system. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)

The stellar notation using the Greek language letter "gamma" indicates that this system is part of the star group/constellation named Verti, of which Gamma Vertis would logically be indicated to be the third most prominent star or system.
