Doctor Garace was a 23rd century Human man, a Starfleet crewmember serving as science officer aboard the Federation starship USS Surak in the 2280s decade.

Biography[]

Garace was an avid bicyclist, and custom-built one himself. (TOS comic: "The Trouble with Transporters!"; ST - Who's Who in Star Trek comic: "Issue 2")

In the year 2285, he brought a ten-speed bicycle along on ship's planetary survey of Verdee. While scouting ahead, he was shot at by Romulans, who managed to knock him out and damage the bike. He safely walked back, carrying his vehicle, to report on the incursion. When the landing party carried out an assault on the hidden Romulan research outpost, Garace eagerly punched three of the intruders to punish whoever might have been responsible for wrecking his bike. (TOS comic: "The Trouble with Transporters!")

Later that year, nearly all of Surak's crew was killed by an unknown pathagen unknowingly brought aboard the ship from a derelict class VI Aakenn-class freighter. (TOS - The Doomsday Bug! comic: "Death Ship!")

Garace was listed as having died in the line of duty and awarded posthumous honors. (ST - Who's Who in Star Trek comic: "Issue 2")
